Fantastic experience! The sushi selection is outstanding, and the menu is extensive with something for everyone. Even though the restaurant was busy, the service was attentive and the food was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. We had a wonderful meal from start to finish and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

The bustling atmosphere promised an electrifying show, with diners eagerly awaiting the renowned hibachi spectacle. However, our chef appeared to be in the early stages of his performance career, lacking the flair and precision exhibited by his seasoned counterparts. This resulted in several order inaccuracies and missing meal components. Additionally, the staff's eagerness to expedite the dining process curtailed the leisurely enjoyment of the show we had anticipated. Despite the hiccups, the vibrant environment was undeniably engaging, with a lively crowd and continuous performances at surrounding tables. Our chef's attempt at the classic sake launch provided a moment of lighthearted fun, showcasing his potential. The restaurant's popularity was evident, as many hopeful patrons were turned away at the door, underscoring its status as a local hotspot. Osaka offers a dynamic and entertaining dining adventure. With enhanced attention to detail and a more relaxed pacing, it could truly shine as a premier hibachi destination. A promising act, though the script could use a rewrite and the supporting cast needs rehearsal.

Our absolute favorite place to hibachi in Grand Rapids. It is a really fun joint. They do a lot of cool stuff while they're cooking and the food is amazing. Highly recommended

The food was pretty good. I would have preferred more vegetables,It was heavy on the onion, not so much the mushrooms and zucchini. The overall flavor had a slight sweet taste, I prefer just soy sauce. The chef did a good job, my filet was grilled as ordered. Service was good, atmosphere was loud as it was busy and people were coming and going. Overall a good experience with just a couple issues

TLDR: I love sushi and it was good here at Osaka! Presentation was lovely, service was good. My only knock is that there was no music playing so all conversations were heard from all guests which made it feel a bit awkward… but other than that, we had a great meal! We started with drinks: Mai Tai (Dark Rum, Orange Juice, Pineapple, Grenadine) and Hawaii lady (Captain Morgan, Malibu, Blue Curacao, Pineapple Juice, Midori). Both were deliciously sweet. For an appetizer we ordered the Shumai (6 Steamed shrimp dumplings) which were pretty tasty and as expected. We ordered the Miso Soup (Soybean paste w. tofu, scallions & seaweed) and the Seafood Soup (Clear soup with shrimp, scallop, crab meat, fish cake & vegetable). The miso was as expected, so good, and the seafood soup was so pretty and also tasty. 😋 My regret is I don’t remember what rolls he ordered, so I can’t recommend what to get here, but I tasted all of them and enjoyed them all. So did he. So I guess I recommend trying everything 🤣. I had the Sushi & Sashimi for 1 (4 pcs sushi & 12 pcs sashimi & 1 California roll). It was great and presented very nicely. I’d recommend trying Osaka if you’re in the area.
